Hainault Forest Country Park

Hainault Forest Park gives a very nice experience for the public to interact with nature and wildlife. Even though there are restrictions there are a number of things which everyone can do.

To get to the park we made our way to East London by car and found there parking to be very reasonable. 1 pound for an hour and 3 pound for the whole day. The park itself is open every day but the petting zoo with the park closes at 3 in the winter and 5 in the summer.

There are many notifications and signs informing the public of the plants and different routes which you can take around the park such as the cyclist pathway.

There is a Cafe and also toilets in the park. There are inside and outdoor accommodations for the cafe and also a canapé which opens and closes.

The zoo is very nice and has a wide range of animals from donkeys, llamas to peacocks. Its is very inviting but also a little off putting by the signs which say all the disease you could possibly catch from feeding the animals.

  1. lots of interesting observations here- but what are the key things here that you think might be valuable for the project.
for example: the petting zoo: how is it organised, eg. where are the animals housed? do you get to see this (or would this be interesting?)
